IMO forumotion needs to remove all blacklisted sub domains till they can fix the problem or get in contact with norton and any other anti virus/firewall that as blacklisted all the forums.

What kills me is most everyone here their forum is blacklisted too they just don't know it yet so they havent posted a complaint about it. If more people would check by posting there forum link on facebook and testing what happens when they click the link and posting there results here maybe we would get a quicker response.

For those of you that think your forum is in the clear the odds are it isn't. Norton has blacklisted a ton of forumotion sub-domain addresses which obviously will include a vast majority of forums. It doesn't target your forum address in particular, just the sub-domain part of it like alldiscusson.net and many others. So consequently if your forum address ends with those sub-domain addresses it will be blacklisted.

I tested the sub-domain .forumotion.com, and it is not blacklisted.

My forums have this ending.

Ok, well lucky you, but there are a lot of different sub-domains forumotion has offered thru the years. I got my sub-domain name alldiscussion.net when I created my forum, there was a drop-menu of about 10 or 15 different endings you could have for your forum, for free, so I chose allldiscussion.net because it seemed to be the most relevant one for my forums subject matter.

You could change the last part of your forum's link. It will have to be re-indexed by search engines. You will also need to send a newsletter to all your members with the new address. I believe there is a redirect for a short time after you change the address.

Thanks but no, I'm not going to do a workaround for a problem I didn't create. I've had the url from the very beginning and its integrated all over the internet in too many places for me to ever consider replacing the url. Also literally thousands of links are in google with the alldiscussion.net url. What you are suggesting is not a reasonable solution. The solution is for forumotion to fix there problem, after all it is there problem, they are losing thousands of dollars of revenue from ads that will not be seen because people can't visit the forums to see them. This is not my problem to the extent it is forumotions, all I am concerned about is those people that don't know any better and think this is a reflection of my work when they see the Norton block message, when in fact its a reflection of forumotion neglecting issues until they get out of hand and start to lose money.

Also on top of that I can't change the alldiscussion.net part of my url unless I paid for a domain name, the alldiscussion.net was free from forumotion and there are no options to change that for free. All I could change for free is first part of the address which is runawayhorses, and changing that will do no good because the part Norton objects to is alldiscussion.net which is forumotions domain name.

I joined Norton to tell them to remove my forum from their blacklist. I ran my forum url through there scanner and it had a bunch of things I never even heard of before, it said it had these scam ads on it which isn't true. It had a list of scam ads that simply are not on my forum, its a lie. I'm starting to believe this whole thing is a scam by Norton, that Norton is actually the real enemy and the ones doing the scams.

I fully intend to publicly trash Norton on my forum if they don't take my forum link off there blacklist. I seriously think they are the problem and the ones doing the scamming.

Are you sure that it is your forum, or it is the sub-domain .alldiscussion.net is what Norton says has 160 computer threats?

I entered my full forum address, and it showed the url it checked which was http://runawayhorses.alldiscussion.net/.

So it must really mean the alldiscussion part because my forum doesn't have anything bad on it, its as clean as a whistle.

Well maybe its showing the full url I entered as a submitted url to my account, but the problem is the alldiscussion.net part. I really don't know for sure what it means. All I know is my forum does not have anything on it like what it lists.

I had to verfiy I was the owner before I submitted the url by adding a meta tag to my forum then click "verfiy". So I got my forum verfied so it must know what address I'm checking, which makes me wonder if it is indeed talking about my forum. If it is its a lie.

I'll post what they say when they reply. Like I said I had my forum verified with them with a meta tag and it passed and got verified, so I don't understand the confusion in the url. My forum simply does not have any scam ads on it, or anything else malicious, its a clean as a whistle.

Thanks for checking, if anyone else would try it would be appreciated.

Well from a personal standpoint I could careless about my search engine rankings, but for the record when you do a search for "Runaway Horses Forum" my forum is at the top of the search results page, which makes my forum number 1 in the search ranks for Runaway Horses Forum:..lol Actually no one is going to do a search for those words, the words that get my forum visitors from search results are from the topic titles of my forums posts, such as "Obama" or "Hillary Clinton". Those names in a search might show a result in a google search result leading to my forums topic that is about those people. That's just an example and it could be many pages down in the result or near the top depending on the relevancy of the words the person is doing the search for. I have a site map and thousands of topic URL's submitted as you can see from this screenshot of my Google Webmasters tools page.

[Only Topic] subdomain that been black listed - Page 2 Google10

I want to take this opportunity to thank forumotion for at least fixing some of the domain names including my forums. thank you. Smile

Yes I understand how this situation is effecting your search ranks because of the words used in a search "staffordshire bull terrier" has the possibility of bringing many search results and being near the top is important, and because of this issue with Norton your forum is way down the list of results. I totally understand that.
