Formatting of copied/pasted text is lost when using the WYSIWYG editor
We have a problem with the WYSIWYG editor. When we paste into it text from a news article, the extra line break between paragraphs is lost upon posting, so the paragraphs are bunched up.
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks.

Where are you copying it from? Most of the times, the formatting is lost as I have noticed with the old editor too.

It happens when copying from almost any website. The line break formatting isn't lost with the BBcode editor, only with WYSIWYG.

Well definitely the formatting doesn't stay as is on other websites.

Would anyone else like to take a shot at it?

What web browser are you using?
I just copied a news article from the BBC News Website and pasted it using google chrome and the line spacing and other format seemed to copy quite nicely.
I'm using google chrome.
All formatting won't copy over though and to an extent I think its based on your web browser.

Chrome has two pasting options, paste and paste as plain text. Paste will try to keep as much as the format as possible, paste as plain text will remove all formatting except maybe line spacing.
Again it greatly wavers between your browser and sometimes the website you're copying/pasting from.

We use FireFox.
Could the CSS be adjusted so that ALL browsers work, not just one of the majors?

Well the editor isn't really off of CSS. I honestly don't know but I haven't heard of anything that will do what you're asking.
