User Permissions Control Problem
Today I had one of members become a moderator and right I am working a new board so just now I went in the board's permissions and had it so my mods could see it. After that I went in to set my new mod's user permissions and he's group with my other mod's permissions! When I try to fix the list it keeps grouping them together. I don't have this problem with the admin users. Does this has something to do with me allowing my mods to see the new board? I am so confused right now. I have never had this problem with other forumotion forums I work on.Â

Re: User Permissions Control Problem
When giving permissions make sure under ACP --> General --> Forums and Categories --> click this button next to the forum you want to change permissions for and check to see if this drop down list has nothing in it: Copy forum permissions --> Make sure its not copying another forums permissions.

Re: User Permissions Control Problem
So each forum has to have its own permission? Right now I have it set up so the forums copy each other so when I open the board up to members it will be done in one click. What does have to have to do with the user control permission?

I thought you were talking about viewing permissions being grouped together?

No I'm talking about my user's permissions. I have two mods and right now it's grouping them together modding over the same forums. When I try to separate them it keeps grouping together.
The reason I mentioned the forum permissions is that this happened right after I allowed my mods to be able to see the new board. I have it set so they can see the board, images, and links.

I am talking about the area where you go and give a user specific permissions. It lets them be a mod for a certain section. What is happening is my two mods are being place together in the same sections. It won't let me have them mod over different sections. Does have to do with the fact that my new board is hidden from my members?

Re: User Permissions Control Problem
If both members are in the moderators group and the moderator group is moderating the section, then both members will have the same permissions. If you want a certain member to have certain permissions, he/she will need not be in the moderator group.
Group permissions override individual permissions when members are in the same group.
