Solved Ads, Ads, Everywhere :(

Post by jacamanda1979 on August 6th 2013, 4:36 pm

I admit it's been a while since visiting my own forum - it was set up for a Facebook game which has since been taken 'offline' by EA.

I've just dropped by the forum and there's ads all over the place! What happened? It never used to look like this Shocked Is it due to my inactivity?

(Ugh! All over Servimg too...) Hem

Thanks in advance.

Hi There,

I see your problem. Forummotion now only remove the ad's for Pro Users. There making it full of ads so they can make more money for advertising and from you upgrading to pro to try and make you spend money.

Hi,

Have you tried this, I'm not sure if your forum has this but try it.

ACP --> General --> Configuration --> Reduce the number of advertisements --> Yes

Also:

ACP -->General --> Configuration --> Disable text ads for guests --> Yes

Other than that then you might need to consider disabling ads via credits if you want your forum to be completely ad free.

Thanks for the help guys, fortunately it wasn't anything to do with the forum. A number of people said it still appeared ad-free when they visited, which meant it was something my end.

I'd discovered that my boyfriend had downloaded something which was bundled with other rubbish. I've removed the rubbish and now all is well with the world again Smile

Sorry to have wasted anyone's time Embarassed
