Copyright infringment
Yesterday, my forum was reported with Copyright infringment, I have noticed today.. How do I deal with this report? Can you please help me identify who sent it and why? my forum is at http://simplyriley.fanforum.biz/
Re: Copyright infringment
Is it an official notice from forumotion?
Does it look similar to this? https://help.forumotion.com/t20793-new-warning-system-for-the-forums?highlight=Warning

No, it doesn't look like that, thank God. It came as a notification and now I guess it is in "Done abuses" in the admin panel but there is no information other than "An abuse has been sent to your forum. To see your abuses, click here" and two options next to it: do not display again vs. closeDerri wrote:Is it an official notice from forumotion?

As for your last question, I had to take down a post in the main website as I had received a warning from the photographer and then I was told things are good now. My moderator contacted them again about the forum content, they said forum content is not violating their copyrights.
But someone just clicked on the report button on the index page and complained

Any suggestions as to whether or not I need to do something else?
Btw, I closed all the forums to guests' viewing, in order to prevent any idle reporting
Re: Copyright infringment
If its a normal abuse done by someone clicking a link on your forum then you don't have to act. As long as nothing violates the forumotion TOS you should be fine

Hi there,
Don't worry if its not like this
https://help.forumotion.com/t20793-new-warning-system-for-the-forums?highlight=Warning
Then there is not a problem i have also had the same think on 4 other forums i run or work on it is some silly fool just playing games with FM forums. If it was some one that was 100% they would have put in a comment on what the real problem was and not left it blank.

Re: Copyright infringment
There should be the option to disable that footer link-at the moment there isn't. So yes people are abusing it.APE wrote:Hi there,

Several times on my forum I had guests abusing that link and found notices in my admin panel with nasty messages such as"your forum is rubbish and should be closed down and the admin forced to have a haircut."
I never sound out who clicked that footer link but it was most probably a member I had banned. FM should at least gives up the option to know the IP of the person who uses the copyright link,so we could IP ban those who abuse it.

As far as i know there has not ever been a setting to turn this off but i think there should be too. i can not see if we have had such a post about asking for it on here SuggestionsAndrea Borman wrote:There should be the option to disable that footer link-at the moment there isn't. It maybe good to ask for some thing like this on the Suggestions forum and see what we can come up with.
