Link to Index From Homepage
If you set an HTML page to index without the header ect. how do you link to the main forum index?
Re: Link to Index From Homepage
You can add the link to the index on the page if you are not using the header and footer.

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
If the HTML page is set as homepage, Anything we use goes back to the homepage. We've tried the url /forum /forumlist /index /index.php
None of them work.

Are you referring to a loading page - https://help.forumotion.com/t63491-create-a-loading-page-before-accessing-your-forum ?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
No. I've set up a new HTML homepage and now there's no way that I can find to see the forum index. I used to just have a link that would add /forum, but that doesn't work anymore."
Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Activate the page so we can see it in action.

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Well, for some reason I can't change my forum link on here but I'll provide it here: http://www.campbellcountymb.com/
Basically I'm asking how can I see the forum index when I have an HTML page without forum headers setup as the homepage.

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Did you create that page? If you did not, you need to ask the person who did to add the link to to the forum.
P.S. If you brought a domain name?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
One of the members of my team did. The problem is we don't know which link to add. We were wanting to link to the forumotion index with all the forums on the main page where we currently have our chat link. That way people can still see it till we have the rest of the new site together.

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
If the HTML page is turned off, the url I provided above will load the index with the forums on there. We don't want to have them built into the HTML page but rather to be able to link to what the normal index looks like. Is that not possible?
Re: Link to Index From Homepage
So you want a link, image, or button that when pressed loads your forum?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Yes. When I showed the creator of the page the loading page link you provided he said that wasn't what we needed though....It's kinda confusing on this end.

If you are not going to provide any sort of answer, please refrain from posting. I've notice that you've done this in several other threads, you will get one more reminder, if you choose to ignore your last chance, you will receive a warning. Thank you. If you have any questions regarding this, please make sure to PM me.
Regarding to the author's question: are you trying to just place the Categories & forums itself on the homepage without showing the banner and footer?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
When you go to our forum at the root domain name, usually you'd see the all the forums listed on the index page with headers and such. But since we have set an HTML page as the homepage, that is no longer the case. You now see the HTML page that we made. And that HTML page has the default headers turned off. So the challenge is now, how can we view the forum index so we can get around our board?
A few years back, we were able to do this. But since Forumotion changed the URL format, it has changed.

When you have this page activated what is the link to the index?
Open to 2 windows, one with the HTML page and one without the page. Check the link for the index.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. If it's activated it's all we can open, except for maybe an admin panel link if we have it saved.
Re: Link to Index From Homepage
How do you have the code for the redirection for the index?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Open two windows/browser tabs. One will just be your forum without the page. The other window will have the page activated.

If you mean get the url when it's not activated and again when it is, they are both the same.SLGray wrote:Open two windows/browser tabs. One will just be your forum without the page. The other window will have the page activated.
That is the very question we want answered.Sir Chivas™ wrote:How do you have the code for the redirection for the index?
We can't get to the index to see the link. I've gone to a topic I have bookmarked and clicked on the link to get to the Index, it just brings me to the homepage that we setup. If we open the index when the homepage is disabled, the URL is the root domain name.
Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Ok. So the issue is that for some reason the index link is not correct?

For some reason adding /forum now works. Maybe it takes the system a while to process it or something.

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
You bought a new domain, correct? Since it was on the process of removing the free domain, which I believe it was .forumotion.com, it may cause difficulties to redirect the page to its index. However, since now it's working, is this consider solved?

Re: Link to Index From Homepage
Apparently it doesn't work for everyone.
We have had the domain 'campbellcountymb.com' for over a year now. It has worked for us with no problem in the past. Going to that domain takes you to the homepage that we created with the HTML pages. The index still wants to be accessed through that URL as well. But for some reason, going to campbellcountymb.com/forum now works for one of our members. So the answer to our question is that URL. However, it won't work for the rest of us right now.

If it has been a year since you brought the domain name has it been renewed?
