unregister / delete domain from forumotion ?
lets say you have created a forumotion forum, and paid for a domain with credits, so that the address of the forum is example.com
now lets say i want to create my own non-forumotion forum (on a rented dedicated server somewhere in the world) after i have used the forumotion one for a couple of months, but want to keep the domain ; example.com
normally that wouldn't be possible, because it still is registered to forumotion (for 12 months i think)
is it possible to get forumotion or others to delete that example.com so that it gets "free/available", so it can be used again for another site ? (without waiting 12 monts)

You can cancelled the domain name yourself. It takes some time before it is available again.

Hi,
If you delete it, that means you cannot buy it anywhere for up to 48 months, if however as you say wish to continue use it, you can transfer it, just review this topic

Forumotion has decided to stop transfers, so you will have to wait until the domain name expires.

Re: unregister / delete domain from forumotion ?
Well no metter what they wrote(they can write anything they want),they are in obligation to provide control of the root domain,it mean access to control panel for DNS settings.Rules are same for all registrats and they are not exepions. You own domain name for one year or more, depends how much you pay and they as registrat MUST you provide control of the domain, for transfer I'm not sure but DNS control for TLD(root) is must have in other way they are not legal registrat and in that case they simple buy domain for you and set CNAME for you,or in other case if they are legal registrat they brake the low.You must have control of root domain because you are responsible for that domain. With DNS control you don't have to transfer domain, simple edit DNS.
Re: unregister / delete domain from forumotion ?
Hello
Rules are same for all Forumotion members. We are not transfering any domain name. This is perfectly legal!
By the consequences, you have to wait for the expiration of the domain name.
Thanks for your understanding

Yes to not provide transfer is legal,I was saying about DNS control that provide registrats, and if some one want to have same domain name but diferent hosting He don't have to transfer domain, simple edit DNS.Also only official registrats are in obligation to provide control of the domain for domain owner.
I don't know is forumotin official registrat, reseler or just buy domains as any other person. If forumotion by domains and it is owner of the domain offcourse it can do what ever want.

Re: unregister / delete domain from forumotion ?
Members are only using the domain name they purchase through Forumotion. They only thing they can see is what is in the administration panel after redirecting a domain name. You do get access to email addresses, too.

Re: unregister / delete domain from forumotion ?
You can not redirect your forum to a domain name. You can only redirect a domain name to your forum.
