member can't stay connected to our board
Here is what she is using:
Dell inspiron 15
15.6 HD display
Touch display
Windows 8
browsers:
Google Chrome
Fire Fox
It's one of the new tablet labtop hybrids. What happens is it logs her out when she tries to switch pages or post. We've tried all the usual solutions such as cleaning caches and hard drives to no avail. This has been going on for over a week now.
I have no idea why the size html codes are showing in the post; I didn't put them there and I don't see it in the posting editor.

Hello,
I'm not sure about the tablet, but did she try checking the 'log in automatically' box(if there is for that particular tablet), it might help. Also, it might be to the browser that she's using, advice her not to be in incognito mode if in case she's using Google Chrome in incognito mode, as it might be affecting the data/cookies while she is logged in.What happens is it logs her out when she tries to switch pages or post. There are 2 versions in viewing/previewing your posts in the editor, did you try the 'Switch editor' tool? (top right portion on the editor)I have no idea why the size html codes are showing in the post; I didn't put them there and I don't see it in the posting editor.

Could you also tell us if the problem is happening only for one user or many? How long does she stay on the page before being deconnected?
Thanks in advance

Re: member can't stay connected to our board
I'll ask her about logged in automatically box; she should have it checked.
As far as I know, she's the only member to have this problem, but then she's the only member using the new hybrid tablet/laptop. She tried a few browsers with the same result. I had no idea Firefox had a stealth mode.
She says it's when she changes pages is when she gets logged out. Examples would include pages within threads, leaving a thread or trying to post.
This is an improvement; when she first got the machine a week or so ago, she would be logged out as soon as she logged in.
As for the html code showing in my op in this thread; it only showed after I posted. What's really interesting is I returned about an hour later and it was no longer showing. I've never seen anything like that.

Ok, for the connection issue, let's wait for Buttercup to look into your problem, meanwhile, it is advisable that you provide your forum link and the username of the user that's experiencing this problem.
Can you show us a screenshot of this problem? Thanks.s for the html code showing in my op in this thread; it only showed after I posted. What's really interesting is I returned about an hour later and it was no longer showing. I've never seen anything like that.

Re: member can't stay connected to our board
Sorry Jophy, as I said, it no longer shows; it was in this thread on this board only.
I got an answer from my member on her problem and she said the automatic logged in box was checked. So that was not the problem.
Now she tells me she didn't fully erase all the cookies in her browsers, so I don't know now if it's the editor or her computer. She claimed before she did fully clear all browsers.
