Thread locked after 100 pages

Some of my threads have been locked after 100 pages of posts and created a second thread.
I have read that its a security thing, but I just wanted to know if there is a possibility my threads can go over 100 pages and keep the same thread instead of creating a new one...My forum is perfectly organized and the second threads are giving me a pain.
