announcement poll

is there a way to set up a poll where announcements go?
If so can you tell me how. 
i want it to be at the top  of the page so everyone can see it when they come in .

You will need to create a poll and add the code to an announcement. Or are you referring to a poll on your forum?

You can make it in a widget.
so its tough to get it where announcement is, but you can but the widget at center in portal.
otherwise, left or right..
Go to widget management and search below, there is a widget named "Polls", which you can apply (it contains a list of all polls made jn forum)

You can create a poll widget, where you can place it in a portal(middle part) or index(using side widgets). You will need to create a topic with a poll first, then go to:
Admin Panel > Modules > Go to Forum Widget management(for the index) or Portal Management:
Scroll to find 'Addition of existing widgets':
Then add it accordingly(Find ;polls') > Make sure to modify it   > Then choose which board poll you would like to display
