Post by guyfawkes May 20th 2014, 20:26

Hello!

We have set up a new forum at "pembsmudslingers.forumotion.co.uk" and its AWESOME!!

We have an old forum at "pembs-mud-slingers.do-forum.com" which the members do not use any more.

The reason this has happened is that the Admin on the old forum was deleting posts & removed admin rights for all of the committee & the chairman from the club.
It was agreed at our recent meeting to set up a new forum to be put in charge of by me (Committee member) but we would like to take the old forum down, and without admin access, this is proving difficult!

What can we do?
Thank you.

Hi,

If you aren't the founder of the forum then there is nothing Forumotion can do.

Hello

As Derri said, without the founder agreement we don't have the right to delete a forum.
You should contact the admin of the forum.

Thanks for your understanding Smile

Thank you for your replies.

What if i wrote to forumotion with a letter from the committee of the club asking for its removal?

The admin of the old forum will not take the site down.

I don't think that would work because he's signed the T&Cs stating that he is the owner of the forum and that he takes responsibility for the content posted. Therefore the forum is in his name.

Only the founder can delete a forum or request a deletion of a forum.

If the founder wants the forum removed please contact him requesting him to create an account on the english support forums and ask him to open a topic and ask for the forum to be officially removed.

The founder does not have to do that.  All the founder has to do is use the forum deletion option in the administration panel.
