Who is the Founder of our site?
Hi,
Our previous owner says that he has transferred the ownership for this Forum
http://www.theassociationofmodelsubmariners.com/
Can you let me know who is the owner now or how I can check this.

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
To find out the founder of the forum, simply use your basic web address, and add /u1 at the end of it. In your case, it would be
"http://www.theassociationofmodelsubmariners.com/u1"
And the forum founder for you would be Richard.

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
It depends on how the original owner transferred ownership to someone else. Why done you ask them?

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
He sent me an email from you (dated 2011) with a username, password and link.
I didn't click on the link then and so presumably ownership was not transferred.
Can the link be reset?

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
So Richard said that he was transferring ownership of the forum to you? You need to discuss this with him.

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
I have just spoken with Richard on the phone and he confirms that he would like to have ownership transferred to another administrator of our Forum. (He says that he is no longer an administrator himself.)
What do we need to do next?
Richard is happy for you to contact him by email, if that would help.
The Forum is the Association of Model Submariners (www.theassociationofmodelsubmariners.com)

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
Right, I have changed (I think) the email address using the founders tools and the original username and password.
I then try to log on to our Forum with the original username and password but it does not accept it.
Logging on as administrator to our Forum, when I look up administrators, Richard is still there as an administrator and a moderator (he said he wasn't) There is no select/deselect box next to his name. So how do I change:
"The previous founder can allow change hsi/her username by "Admin""

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
Richard has to give you the log in information for the founder account, then you need to log into the forum with that account.

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
Yes, thanks - using the original password.
The Richard entry under Administrators still has no tick box, though. How to change ownership?

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
Hello,
Since the account 'Richard' is the founder, the box is meant to be like that. In order to change ownership, you must continue to use the account Richard and change all of the details on there. You cannot change the leader/group moderator of the original administrators to another account.
I hope that makes sense.

Re: Who is the Founder of our site?
Actually that is clear. I have now successfully changed Richard's details to one of our Admins.
Job done! Thanks for all your help.
