Importing an external forum AFTER the creation phase has been past
I saw that an external forum can be imported to forumotion and the explanation on how to do so when you first create your forum under the FAQ section. As I already created my forum a week or two back, I wanted to know if it is still possible for an external forum to imported into my existing forum (even if that means overwriting what is currently there).
Thanks
Thanks

Hi,
I might be wrong but, if you mean to have a forum redirect, you can do so by following these steps:
1. Head over to Admin Panel > General > Forum > Categories and forums
Select or make a new forum and make the name as the following.
You can also stylize it, such as:
Hope this helped

Re: Importing an external forum AFTER the creation phase has been past
thanks, but thats not what I'm after..
I would like to do the procedure stated https://help.forumotion.com/t133904-how-to-import-your-external-forum-on-forumotion#901545
So I wanted to know:
1. can this only be done upon creation of a new forum?
2. when I tried to create from scratch and do this process, I received a message that the database file was too big (the zipped file is 236MB). Is it possible to send the file to an admin/mod to have it imported?

Hi,
From what has been said recently you cannot import an external forum after forum creation.

Also is there a size limit on the database file?

Not as far as i know NO there is just a limit on when you can do this right now as we do not have server side right's after the forum is made.

Hello
Infact, you have to create a Forumotion forum first and import your database once you arrive to the step 4 of creation. The version of your external forum must be PhpBB, Invision or PunBB.
The size of the database is not a problem. Our technicians will make the necessary things to import them. However depending on the size of your external it may take some longer to import the database.
If any questions feel free to ask
