Tag  @member on your forum

Dear Forumotion members

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum Email-10
Forumotion has set-up a mention tagging system for our forums. We hope you enjoy this new option created especially to your forum Smile

1- What is the purpose mention tag ?

It helps members to tag other members by using @username
It gives you the ability to identify and reference people in a post.

2- How mentions work on Forumotion forum?

Add On the Administrative panel (set up permissions)

Via the administrative panel you can allow or not allow your members to use the option.
Now, go to your administrative panel:

AP>> General>> Messages & e-mail>> Configuration>> "Keywords tags permissions"

You will have 3 options:

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 14-08-18
1- Option not available
2- Option available to all your members
3- Option available to groups:

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 14-08-27

Add Mention on the front

- Posts
Tag a user by using @username

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 19-08-10

When you click on @mention, you'll have the user profile appearing

- Your profile

You can receive notifications via the toolbar or email: Front>> Profile>> Notifications
option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 19-08-11

- Notifications

*Via the profile

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 19-08-12
*Via the toolbar

option - [New option] Tag @member on your forum 19-08-14

Add Add Please note:

-
If you have a username with a space or special characters, you must add " " After the @ and at the end of the name ( See Example Code Below )
Example:
Code:
@"ange tuteur"

Code:
@"Empire_1"

Delete  Delete Limitations of the system

Of course it won't work for all username

Some example that won't work

@
test@sd.com
@<3Natalia<3
@#Natalia (# Hashtag will be taken into account not @)
@ won't be taken into account inside code

A ForuMotion Important Announcement

Hi faver,

That would be one of the limitations of this option I believe.

Awesome!! To cover up the limitations.. How about only usernames that are NOT causing problems be banned?
Like spaces in the usernames etc can be banned? Or how about a nice tutorial to ban them?

@APE can you try to mention me once" wanna see it Very Happy
Also, what would happen if I get mentioned in a topic that I do not have permission to see? Same with hash tags, what if any hash tags that I am following are tagged in a post I am not authorized to see? O.O

@Rhino.Freak if you are tagged in a topic that has a Hashtag it will still work  but if you type # @Ape then it will not work it wil find the @ Ape first and the Hashtag will not work  so if you want to use the 2 in the same thread then your have to do it like this

@Rhino.Freak Some text then the #tag then it will work

I was trying to elaborate to our members how it works so I added the mention tag inside of a code, then added the examples of how they would look like without the code brackets. @Hatsune Miku

You didn't understand the issue, the problem is, using the @ tag FOLLOWED by a Code Box, results in bug.
Example coming through

Code:
@Buttercup blabla this a random code
@Buttercup this is a random problem

Wait this is solved now Smile
