Automatic Screen Refresh

Post by GBDawg1 on Sun Aug 16, 2015 11:32 pm

One problem I find is that the forums don't refresh every so often (say every 5 minutes or so). The issue here is that if someone send a pm or makes another post and then a user logs out, they don't know they received a pm because they didn't refresh the screen. Then, the next time they log in, they still won't be aware they have a new message because the site assumes they have already been made aware of it last time they were logged in. This can mean a message going unread for several days.

Is there a way to overcome this?

If you use the toolbar, the page does not need to be refresh to get notifications.

I've posted about that in another thread as well.

The only issue I have with this is that if you are posting a message and the page refreshing your message will be gone.
