In progress anynomous user - how?

Post by clovecenezlobse August 28th 2015, 3:41 pm

Hello, i want to create forum, where members will have to log in but their identity will be hidden in the forum. I mean - all of them will be "anonymous" or whatever. Generally not recognizable in any way. How can I do it? Thanks

Go to Profile>Preferences>Hide online status set it to "Yes"

Note: Users can't be hidden for Administators.

Cheers! thumleft

It doesn´t work, I can still see the names of the users in the thread. I need to hide all names of the users and replace them with "anonymous" for instance. Simply make the forum 100% anonymous.

Wow... That is alot. It is not possible via the default options, however, it might be possible to do with code. To know for sure, I will refer you to @Ange Tuteur and @JScript they should know for sure whether it is possible to do or not. Wink

Why don't you want the usernames to show? I am just curious, you don't have to answer if you don't want.

I wonder why do you wonder Smile it seems so simple and obvious to me. I was searching the web but i didn´t even find any website which would offer this kind of forum. It is really weird, the hole at the market. The reason for this solution is to keep all communication strictly anonymous, without any nicknames and personalisation.

Usernames really does not give out personal information about an user.  A member could just make up an username.
