Loading the index from the backup file
I greet,
want to ask, what should I do if I want to restore from a backup (file with the extension .sql) forum that was created on another server (forum-zdarma.cz). The server, however, now simply is not active and not available. I would like this forum backed thus create (restore) the xxxxxx.slovakforum.net.
I'm no expert in IT technology, so I asked - if possible - a fairly obvious how to do it.
Thank you in advance.
Sorry, used Google Translate.

Re: Loading the index from the backup file
If you want to restore your forum from an earlier date, you should be able to do it in the forum utilities.

Re: Loading the index from the backup file
Thanks for the help,
but my problem is mainly that they do not want to renew the current forum (it runs and is fine), but I want to restore the forum, which was on another server (the server), namely "forum-zdarma.cz". And that's where mine was generated backup. Join utilities can be restored only to a forum that is now active. I do not need this.
I suppose it probably can not do. Or do they?
I hope I described my problem enough - if not, I will try to describe it more fully and in detail.

Re: Loading the index from the backup file
Was that other forum not a forumotion forum? If so, we can't really help you.
Forumotion forums do not have downloadable back ups and all run on forumotion servers.

Re: Loading the index from the backup file
The only time we offer a download from one forum to the other is when you first make a forum there is a tool there that lets you take your old forum from some other host to FM's.
other than that there is no other way to use your backup from your other forum host sorry.

Re: Loading the index from the backup file
Are you wanting to import the other forum into your Forumotion forum?

Yes, my back-up forum was created elsewhere, as Forumotion.
I thought I would create a new forum on Forumotion, then here the restoration of the forum my backup.
Re: Loading the index from the backup file
As stated above, the only option forumotion offers to import an external forum to forumotion is presented when you create a new forum and only when creating a new forum.
