I'm having problems with making forum table headers taller.

Is there a code to make the table headers on a forum taller?, this is what mines look like.

And this is what i'm trying to go for on my forum.


Also, if it's not to much to ask, I don't like how the topics, and posts look on my forum and what to change them. First I'll show you how mines look, and then I'll show you how I'd like them to look.

 Thanks a ton @Van-Helsing. I have one more problem with the category. For some reason the title 'forum' under the category is remaining and it's messing with the code. I want to remove the row.




I thought by choosing this Link here option it would remove it.  I'm not sure if it's because I changed the version of my forum a couple of times or not.  Can you help me remove this?
