How do I redirect newly registered users?

Description of problem

When a new user registers they are taken to the page in the screenshot. They must then click the red text to be taken to the Index. Then they must execute a couple more clicks just to get to the rules, guidelines and site information they need. I've tried a few things to shorten this path but its still too many clicks. I want to make this process much easier and I have two suggestions. Either will do.

1) After a new member agrees to the terms of service I want the forum to automatically redirected to a specific thread or page instead of the page in the screenshot.

2) If the above isn't possible I want to add a link to the white area in the screenshot under the current link that will take them to a specific thread or page. The thread will contain all the information, rules, etc needed for new members.

Either way this is much easier for new members as they are taken straight to where they need to go upon registration instead having to click around. Are either of these suggestions possible?

sorry this can not be changed as its database side only and we do not have any power over this setting.

Sorry I was editing the post when you replied. It seems your reply will still be the same but please read again incase. I was able to get a code to redirect after log in why not registration? Isnt log in server side too?

Unfortunately, you cannot do this.

yes it is basic  same reply to what i have posted all of our systems are server side and we do not give anyone the use to change that Sorry

Thanks for the response guys. That's unfortunate. Is there any way to achieve what I want? Any work around or alternate idea? I cant accept that there is literally nothing possible to bypass this problem?

The registration process can not be changed because it contains legal information.   The only thing you can do is add information to the rules page and add profile fields to the registration process.  You can not remove any page or hide the default information and copyrights.
