Forumactif Edge - A Free Modern and Responsive Forum Theme

Hello everyone,

Since November 2015 I've been working on developing a new "forum version" for Forumotion forums that's modern and responsive. Today I've recently published the production release of this software and would like to share it with all of you who are looking for a more modern design that's also mobile-friendly.

I did and i was still confused LOL.

I see lol, perhaps I'll consider revamping the first post then. It has almost been a year since I released it, so it could use a face lift.

Anyway, if you want to see the theme in action, you can check it out @ http://themedesign.forumotion.com/ It should give you a better idea of what this theme does.

Forumactif Edge is great @Ange Tuteur

Mobile version (basically devices with small resolution) has layout problems with new Forumotion features (events, publications). Text areas and boxes are too small etc.

@Tonight you're right, thanks for bringing this to my attention ! I made a quick hotfix which adds some responsiveness to the events. Let me know if the issue has improved or not.

I'm still loving my new layout..and haven't had any hiccups.. lol..thank you Ange Tuteur

Update v1.2.6

Version 1.2.6 of Forumactif Edge has been released. This is a very minor update that changes the submit feedback footer link from FM Design to the Wiki.

Update v1.2.7

Forumactif Edge v1.2.7 is now available ! (this is NOT a late April Fools joke ) This update fixes a few minor style related bugs with the theme. Please see the release notes below for more information on the changes made.

• Fixed large avatars overflowing the toolbar welcome menu.
  
• Fixed the design of polls in topics, making them less messy and more concise. (old --> new)

Manual Update
If your CSS stylesheet is at the character limit, and the FAE CP failed to update it, these are the changes that need to be made.

1. To fix the avatar in the toolbar, replace :

Ange Tuteur..we have a problem..both my site and a friends site has well..good grief how do I explain it..

We have the + and oh those 3 vertical bars..well they are gone..and our Legend colors are gone.. and not sure what else..oh and the FAE button on the side is gone..a long with everything else..

This has nothing to do with FM Edge but with the javascript management. Please activate the javascripts on your forum and the problem should be solved

This is a global issue for all FM forums Please do what I said and tell us if it's ok.

I know that tilly's site is ok now..but mine still isn't

EDIT..it's working now..so what happened for that to happen..because it was working at 4am..this morning..come back this evening and things have changed..but I didn't touch the java scripts

Go to: Admin Panel > Modules > Javascripts and activate them. This was a general problem. Once you activate the Javascripts all would be fixed!

Update v1.2.8

Forumactif Edge v1.2.8 is now available ! This update introduces a few fixes to reflect the changes made in the GDPR update. The changes made are listed below.

• Updated template general/agreement to reflect GDPR changes.
  
• Fixed alignment of GDPR checkbox for newsletter agreement on step 2 of registration.

Manual Update

Generally, you just need to self-clear the floats for fieldset dl.


2. If for some reason your templates failed to update. You can update the agreement template by going to Admin Panel > Display > Templates > General > agreement. Once in this page, delete the contents and replace them with the most recent template which can be copied from the repository (link below).

If you made changes to the template and don't want to delete it, use the default template in the link provided above to review the changes made. You can use this tool to compare and find differences.

No problem ! Someone tipped me off that there was an issue with the registration page.. and I couldn't let that be ! I should've mentioned it before, but I highly recommend updating to the latest version so the registration page works properly. (that goes for anyone using FA Edge)

@SLGray thanks, you're correct that appears to be missing ! I'll have to prep another patch to add it in. In the mean time I just want to make sure that all the templates updated were..

Update v1.2.9

Forumactif Edge v1.2.9 is now available ! This update adds the data export option to the profile page along with a small fix to the previous update file. See the patch notes below for more information.

• Updated the profile_add_body template to include the data export option in the edit profile page. This will allow members to download the information and content that they have published on the forum.
  
• Updated the v1.2.8 update file to include a condition that checks the template for changes before making modifications. This will prevent duplicate template modifications, in the event the founder has already made the necessary changes.
  
• Added an error handler to the FAE Control Panel when the version data cannot be found. This is usually related to JavaScript codes management being disabled or more rarely the version data script being deleted. Until either is resolved, the control panel will be locked to prevent further errors.
  

Important: It is recommended that you check the agreement template (Admin Panel>Display>Templates>General>agreement) for duplicate entries, if you made modifications to it prior to updating to v1.2.8. More simply you can check the /register page on your forum for duplicate agreement checkboxes. If present, you can correct this mistake by reinstalling the agreement template from the repository here.

If you haven't updated to v1.2.8 yet, you should be fine as this mistake has been resolved. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Where in the CP can i add my logo to the forum?

It would be in your CP under display, pics management, general/ explore [ forum main logo ]
