In progress Banner Size

Post by Frank_Wx Wed 19 Oct - 2:40

Hi everyone,

The top of my forum has a real sloppy look to it. I would like to clean it up by making it the same size as the banner and dimensions as the one shown on this Support Forum above. I like how the banner bleeds into the NavBar. How do I go about setting my dimensions to replicate what is shown here? What size banner is used?

phpBB is my forum type

URL is

http://www.njstrongweatherforum.com/

Thank you!

Hi there,

The banner width used here is 865x201 but the entire header isn't their banner, they just used the same background color as the banner so it appeared to be the entire header.

Thank you for being responsive. My last question is how do I get rid of some of the blank spaces? I would like to make the NavBar look like the one shown above. The red squiggles in the screenshot below is the section of the header I would like to get cleaned up.

Try adding this into your CSS Stylesheet.

Code:
.headerbar {
  margin-bottom: 0 !important;
}
#page-body {
  margin-top: 0 !important;
}

I do not believe that did anything. I left that code in the stylesheet so you can check my forum for yourself. I don't see a difference.

Are you sure you entered them correctly in the right spot? Cause I don't see them on your site. Make sure to copy and paste exactly what I put.

Yes, I think so. Here is a screenshot of where I am putting it.

Hmm, that is weird. Try putting 'px' after the 0's. So it reads 'margin-top: 0px !important'

What is the name of the circled piece? I want to get rid of it. I also want to remove the "search" bar and "current date and time"

You can only get rid of the current time and search bar via templates.

How do I separate the NavBar from the search bar like this forum does? Can that only be accomplished through Templates? I would like to make the NavBar look like what is shown above in this forum. I also do not like the small white space that shows between the banner and NavBar

By default in phpbb3, the search bar is below the navbar and yes, it can be accomplished in phpbb via editing the templates.
