Hi,
I am trying to get new members and I see you can do something with Google & Bing as Bots..How do I do this to advertize my Group for PSPer's and People who want tags, but don't PsP...Play games, do PSP Challenges, etc..I DON'T want to be spammed & we are a ladies only Group...How do I get this out there in the public domain SAFELY?

Hello @GrayceeJewel1,
I can see you are fairly new to Forumotion so here are a few tips on helping to advertise your forum.

1. Creating a Facebook Fan Page / Twitter Account for your forum like what @skouliki mentioned above.

2. Using the Forum Promotion area here on Forumotion is another great way to open up a topic specifically for your forum to announce updates, changes, and such. Just to help get people to notice it.

3. Get some advertising graphics made. Such as userbars or affiliate images that your members on your forum can use to promote your forum on other websites that they visit. The userbar can be put in a signature on other forums that allow members to use them so that is a way to link back to your forum.

4. Use other forums to help promote. There are lots of other forums and websites out there to help promote your forum and get your name out there. Don't just use 1 or 2 websites to promote, otherwise it may take a lot longer to get noticed.

5. Request a review here on Forumotion. The review team and members who complete reviews can help give you some ideas on where your forum may be lacking that may or may not be obvious to visitors going to see your forum and they can help give some ideas on what you can improve on to make your forum stand out a bit more.

Hope some of these tips help out a bit more for you!

Search engine bots came to your forum automatically. They can only index what guests can see. You can help them by sharing content from your forum by using the social media buttons on your forum.

How do I share the button? AND I got a new member in that I didn't authorize, so what did I do wrong when you told me what to do to make it just ADMINS to let them in? Would you show me that Panel again? Sorry...

I'm sorry..This is way too high a level of Computer than I am used to and really am afraid to do anything that would cause me problems...I appreciate your help, but I need a computer guru to understand any of it... Waaa

it's not hard .. just follow the steps and if you need anything we can help you all the way Hello

the first step is to activate the like button

If you want to activate the facebook "Like" system, go into your ACP ...modules ..social networks .. "Like" button on

and open a group or a page to facebook and twitter to advertise your forum

I did the LIKE button and have a Group already on FB, but no one is paying attention to it...

Hello,

On Facebook you really have to actively promote your group and page, just share it among your friends and stuff and eventually people will see it. Those social media is an excellent way to promote your forum. I do it and it seems to be successful.

I can't think of a better way to advertise a site then social media (well other then google of course).

I turned it off now, but won't that stop Guests from viewing my forum...which is what I want..or does that not make a difference?
I want Guests to view us, but not the ADS on the bottom..Am I confusing you?LOL

Those links are only links to other forums hosted by Forumotion that has similar topics. It does help bring in guests. If no similar topics are found, there will be no similar topics links under your topics on your forum.

Hi,
First of all, I turned OFF the Traffic Exchange button...so I won't see the other like forums.
Secondly, none of the ads were anything that related to me..Hockey? Home Made Power Supply? I don't think so...so how does this help me by keeping the Traffic Button on if it has offered nothing that relates to me? Just curious..

So leave it on or off? And I DO NOT want males in the Group, so most of the Forums I have seen so far look to be male or NOT interested in PSP(making tags)..
Also How do these other forums see my Group?

If you are looking for a certain group of members, you will need to advertise to that group.

Then how do I advertise to the Groups of PSPers(Tag-Making)?
I don't know the names of any and wouldn't that be considered spamming from my end? I would feel that someone was trying to steal my members if I saw someone's ad on my Group..Do you understand my meaning?

The best ways to advertise are social media and word of mouth (having your members tell their friends about the forum, etc).

You could also go to psp forums and try seeing if advertising in a certain section is permitted (many forums do) and in this way you could advertise on those forums without breaking their rules.

Overall, all you can do is try your best to advertise the forum in as many ways as you can and hope people like what they see and join.
