Mimóza, that's really nice. I wish I could make headers like that!

Jon Gaunt is a radio/tv presenter if you could possibly add that under his name please.

And an extra bit of text for John Stalker is "I have a real suspicion we are not being told the whole truth' - maybe that will fill his speech box so it's the same as everyone elses?

The url is in my opening post skouliki.

Is that why the header looks blurry?

Due to servimg's JPG compression artifact it looks damaged.
I use [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] or http://www.pictureshack.us/ for large images.

Hmmmmmm...that doesn't help.
I wonder if it could be because I've got a thousands of images hosted on servimg?

If I delete a load of images from servimg to make room for some new ones does that mean they will disappear off the forum aswell?

Thank you for the link skouliki, I've uploaded it but it looks the same.

Although when I upload it to my test forum it looks clearer [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Post by jkh November 24th 2016, 6:01 pm

Hello [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Really sorry to bother you again, but the forum header isn't working for my forum and I wonder if I can ask you to tweak it a bit for me please?

The main issue is that the text in the quote boxes are quite blurry on my forum, although they look totally fine on your graphic. So I was wondering if you could make some more space in the header by removing the text 'The Complete Mystery of Madeleine McCann' and also reduce the size of the names - it's actually the text in the quote boxes that's important so if more space can be made then the quote text could be bigger.

Could you also move Wendy Murphy to the centre so that it goes: John Stalker, Jon Gaunt, Wendy Murphy, Alex Thomson and George Galloway?

There is also a word missing in John Stalker's quote - you missed out the word is"My gut instinct is...."

I don't know why my forum headers have become blurry lately - I've always had text in the headers and never had a problem before. :/

Thank you :rose:

Thank you Mimóza...do you have a link so that I can upload it and see how it looks please?

Could the text in the quote boxes be a little less bold please as it looks a little too big now?

Also Alex Thomson and George Galloway's names are the wrong way round.

Their job titles could be a bit clearer too.

I've uploaded a screenshot of your header so you can see what it looks like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I've used this code which is what makes it fit in the forum boundary but makes it blurry
Code:
#logo img {
    width: 100%;
}

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Thank you skouliki - this is your image at 90% on my test forum [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
How does it look to you?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] your original header now looks a lot clearer when uploaded at 90% [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the image still seems to stay within the forum boundary.

The only problem now is that there is a word missing ("is") in John Stalker's quote. I can live with this forum header as it is if necessary but if you could do a little more tweaking then it would be perfect.

1. Please move Wendy Murphy and her quote to the centre

2. Please add the word 'is' to John Stalker's quote so that it reads "My gut instinct is that some big secret is being covered up..."

3. Please make the text in the quote boxes slightlybigger (but not as big and bold as your second attempt). I still prefer your first attempt and now that it seems to work at 90% I would like to keep your first version please).

4. Please make job descriptions a little clearer.

5. The names could be a little smaller to make room for the slightly bigger text in the quote boxes.

Then we're all done I reckon and very sorry for this extra work for you but am very grateful. :rose:

Hey,
Hopefully, everything is okay now. :'D

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

How to get image link:

By the way, I still don't get why it gets good for you @90%. What is your screen resolution? The only thing I can think of is that if it's bigger than w1364x no wonder the banner got blurry for you, since you stretched it with codes.

Your new header is now up [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - how does it look to you?

My screen resolution is set on 'recommended' (1680 x 1050) - I've got quite a wide screen...although my other computer is set at 1366 which is also 'recommended', but that's not a wide screen.

So maybe the problem is that I'm doing my forum headers on my widescreen computer then and I should have done them on my other computer?

I tried adjusting your header to 100% again and it went blurry so I changed it back to 90% and it was fine, but now I've reduced it to 80% and it still looks fine.

Your comment about stretching the text was probably right - I was trying to fill up the width of the forum on my widescreen computer....doh!

Let me know what you think please.

If you so want it to stretch and fit all the resolutions, then here it is in 1920px. Now if you leave the code at "width: 100%", it should be still clear for most of the bigger screens too.  alien

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Make the background behind it one-colored so it will blend. Smile

No, it's not complete yet..please leave the thread here for a little while longer.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thank you very much for continuing to work on this. I appreciate you taking the time.

I will upload all your new headers to my test site tonight or tomorrow to see what they look like.

I never expected some more choices!

However, I don't think the text in the quote boxes is visible enough on a bright coloured background.

Would you be able to give me the colour codes for your graphics so that I can make the backgrounds exactly the same? I did try to adjust my background but couldn't make an exact match.

Also, I can't see how to get the url codes for the coloured images :/

I would also like to try your suggestion about uploading the 1920px at 100% but, again, would need the url code.

I note you've also taken the time to find new images for the people, I especially like the new one of Wendy Murphy as you can see more of her face.

You're a star! :rose:
