Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
What is it gonna be? Is there something like a webpage telling the users "hey this is all the stuff we've been developing. Read it"?

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Yes the exactly Firefox name is Quantum and the build version is 57.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
many extensions that I use daily does not work as I installed it I went back to the official version again
Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Wow I 've just updated it. Its has an amazing interface and it was updated its addons automatically.
I love this version of firefox. Furthermore is faster than previous versions.
@Jucarese firefox very often disables some addons to prevent memory leakage bugs which are appearing in Windows 10 versions. These bugs have many times reported to bugzilla because they are responsible for RAM memory draining.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Yes, but they are extensions that I need and do not give me options at the moment to install new versions
Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
I don't know if it is just my firefox or not, but for the past couple weeks it has been crashing atleast once every use, like 2 weeks ago it crashed 4 different times on me, then today it crashed once today. I don't know if it is just my pc or just my firefox or a general issue. Anyone else had any issues with crashes lately?

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
I have had no issues with crashes.
About the new version, I only have one word to say WOW!
It will take sometime to get use to it. There has been changes to the options and toolbar.

@brandon_g, with the old Firefox I kept getting crashes and it kept freezing up on me with certain sites..it drove me nuts..I hope this new one will not have those issues..I just don't like the new toolbar..but I guess I will get used to it in time..I hope lol

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
The only issue I have encountered so far is videos having a green and purple overlay on them. Not all videos, but Youtube ones have it.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Good morning dear all,
The past versions of Firefox had some issues with RAM memory leakage. Mozilla have been collected a lot of users reports and tried to resolve this issues, then decided to disable some addons because the authors of the didnt updated their codes. The new version of Firefox tries to update the addons directly. I no updates found it disables the until addons authors release an update. Of course you can contact directly the authors of your addons and ask them to update their addons. When are they ready you can re-install or update them.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
with the same open processes I consume more memory on 57 than on 56
with six open processes in 56 600mb in 57 1032mb I do not see that they have made changes in the theme of memory

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
@Ape I am the same way with the tabs and the changes at the top..and with bookmarks they have made it where only a few show up (just the last ones that were bookmarked) then have to go to the bottom to get all the bookmarks to find the first ones I had bookmarked..that is a bit annoying..

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Good evening dear all,
@SLGray to fix the green and purple overlay on firefox you must disable the hardware acceleration from Firefox's settings.
@Jucarese how many RAM do you have on your PC? I am asking you because I am not facing this problem,
I have opened over than 20 tabs on firefox, 3-4 tabs opened on chrome, 3-4 tabs opened on opera and 1-2 tabs opened on microsoft edge. My total RAM on my PC is 8GB. My RAM's usage is around 4.88GB. As I am an I.T Expert I am using extremely heavy softwares for home & business use but it is difficult to reach the limit of 8GB. Furthermore my SSD's momentum cache uses 1-1.5 GB to optimize my system's overall performance. Have you tried to do an optimization on your startup programs? Very often the spywares/adwares etc increasing the memory & CPU usage and sometimes the temperatures of your PC's hardware due the tracking cookies because they are working background. The solution for this issue is at least one daily scan & cleanup with an antispyware software.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
It does not help.
I did notice when I re-installed Firefox twice that the videos worked fine until the 2 plugins that are installed by Firefox was installed completely.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
Hi dear all,
@SLGray I think is that I noticed previously the incompatible addons are remaining as blocked from mozilla until their authors update their codes to fit in new mozilla version without any RAM memory draining issues. In my case after firefox update all of my incompatible addons disabled automatically by firefox during its installation and when it was completed I was checked my addons and saw them in addons list disabled.
Here is an example of this case:

and also there is an additonal message on the top of addons list:

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
I found a solution to my green and pink or purple videos issue.
Type this in your browser: about:config
Click the I accept the risk button
Now search for: media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva
If it is set to true, toggle it to false.
Does anyone know what media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva exactly does?

I went ahead and toggled this option back to true.SLGray wrote:I found a solution to my green and pink or purple videos issue.

Then I did this:
unchecked the boxes for used recommended performance settings and use hardware acceleration when available under Options > General > Performance.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
8gb ,the pc is clean and controlled with ASC so it has no spyware problems or anything like that, it simply opens more resources by tabs.I also need my extensions, and I can not do without any of them, and I do not like the new format they have given the move FF there is a request to respect all FF users before making major changes, especially with the issue of extensions.Van-Helsing wrote:@Jucarese how many RAM do you have on your PC? Re: Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates
I just changed over to Firefox as my default browser from Chrome, and I'm loving the speed bump compared to the chrome browser , who kept freezing up on me and cutting the audio off when i'm loading a youtube video. I have not seen any bugs yet, been using it since Monday. I hope it stays this way.
