New functionality : the events
Forumotion News : the events on the forums. |
Dear users, Forumotion is glad to announce a new functionality on the forums : ''The Events’’. This new option is added to your forum in order to help you to organize and plan your events and to get unique interactions and exchanges with your community. What is the event system ?Thanks to this exclusivity, your members can now create an event with a good description of it, in real life or virtually and they can share it with your community. Meetings, festivals, concerts, demonstrations,…etc. everything is possible ! It’s up to you to find the best events that will interest your community to share with your members unforgettable memories ! ;D Directly linked with the calendar, the events of your forum will let you organize in an easy, ergonomic and useful way every kind of activity with your community.
You can set up the permissions of the event in your administration panel. Members that will get the opportunity to create events can be more implicated in your forum ! Strengthening your bonds or sharing new things, the events are the best way to organize and plan meetings or special opportunity on your forums ! How to activate the event system ?To activate the events on your forum, you just have to go in your administration panel, Modules tab, and then go to Events. Everybody can create events or only some groups that you set up with the permissions.
A new option in the main menu will appear when you activate the events. It will let you go on the special section of the events.
We won’t tell you more and let you discover by yourself all the possibilities of the events on your forums. You can now create and organize everything you like, so don’t hesitate anymore ! And the best is yet to come… See you soon for other news, Reguards, Forumotion Team. |

If you activate this option, you will notice there is no image for the link in the navbar. To fix this, go to AP > Display > Colors & Pictures > Pics Management (Advanced Mode) and click the see examples button for events.

About the templates, for now they are not available due to some changes that might come in the future If we give you the possibility to change it now while they're not perfect, we may encounter some big deals later I hope you understand

Any plans to add a RSVP feature to the events section (to increase the interactivity / event management options)?

Interesting feature. Eager to try it.
When I try to create event (from admin acc), I get error:
"The field Date / Time is required" any ideas? I do enter date.

@Tonight and @Kami-sama You need to make sure you add a time and date of start and end to the system before posting.

Some additional questions/problems:
1) Is there a reason why it isn't possible to change the position of events (and wiki) in navbar?
2) Why can't we translate/change the name of events?

After the recent updates the HTML was disabled by default. Had to enable it again. Has this event update caused this?

If you are using the theme by Ange Tueteur, you need to visit FM Design. I was wondering if you had created a handy widget for your event. I mean something that would show upcoming events in order of their date, like 5 soonest?
It would certainly be handy since now the events are rather hidden.
