Displaying 'Recent Topics' at Customized HTML Page

I was wondering whether there are some trick to use to have the Recent Topics widgets appear on a custom-made HTML page. I tried using the code from the templates but it wouldn't work if i just copy and paste it.

Simply put: I want to display Recent Widgets in an HTML page, but not on the Index nor Portal.
