(#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Hello
I'm sure I read this problem at one time but searching has not come up with what I'm looking for.
I have been advised when a member tries to log in, an ad is right on top of the log in box preventing them from logging on. They have tried to close it, or move it out of the way but it won't.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hello,
We fixed a similar problem few days ago. To help us to understand and fix your problem, can you:
- Share a screenshot of the problem.
- Tell us if it's concerned the desktop or the mobile version? Desktop on desktop or mobile?
- What is the country of the user who sent you a complaint?
I know it's not easy to get all these information but it's necessary to find the ad partner and the campaign which are responsible.

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Here is one example. As of today, now I'm getting a few others with the same problem.
Maybe I need to buy credits? Isn't it possible to have ad's disabled without having to pay for it?
RE: Accessing the forum through iPad
I normally use "web view" on my iPad but suddenly the ad at the top of the page is blocking the top posts. The square ad has re-positioned lower and blocking either my log in and/or the first post. I have deleted history of web sites and apps, added an ad blocker and it is not removing the ad.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Hello,
I think you can understand it's not a normal situation but a bug to fix
Your information will help the team to reproduce and understand the reason of this issue. Often Forumotion send a request to block a specific campaign. But for that, some information are required.
What is your country? The web browser is Chrome? Is it possi le to provide the target link on the banner?

Hello,
I received mails from forum members that have problems with our forum, the pages were weird and uncomplete, some were unable to login. I log out to taste the prroblem myself and now I am unable to Login, I only see the ads indeed. I tried with Safari and Chrome.
My forum is http://sts-forum.forumieren.de

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
The three members that advised me of the problem, were all in the United States.
One of them sent me the screen shot I posted upthread. You can see the add is covering a thread. If they go to that thread or any other thread, that ad stays in the same spot, covering the content so they can't read it. If they scroll down, it still covers it.
I purchased credit's to disable ad's, and all three members are not having the issue any longer.
Just my opinion. I don't disagree that there should be ad's, and I would enable ad's for members and guests, however this has happened before where the ad's take over the content of the forum. Even registered members have to deal with ad's that take over the forum, and in many cases, they can't even log in. That only annoy's people and prevents guests from joining. The ad's should be at the very bottom of the forum, and out of the way.

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
- Share a screenshot of the problem: There is nothing to see except the ads for me.
- Tell us if it's concerned the desktop or the mobile version? Desktop on desktop or mobile?: I have problems with the desktop but it seems some have also issues with the mobile version.
- What is the country of the user who sent you a complaint? France, Germany, Denmark and Czech republic at least.
Here is a member's problem description "I am sorry for contacting you as STS admin this way but I am unable to contact you via STS PMs.
I think two days ago started my problems with displaying STS forum in the browser. I run W7+Opera on my PC (berofe and now) but now is all text on STS underlined as link and in the browser tooltip I see as link "http://sts-forum.forumieren.de/</div></div></div></div></td></tr></table></div><div%20id="
If I click, I got 404 error page (page not found).
Moreover, if I click any field for entering anything (credentials, posts, PMs), I got 404 error page too. Text in posts posted by other users are not wrapped so large part of text is hidden... "

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Hello,
Thank you for all your information. These datas allow us to apply the same conditions in order to reproduce the issue on our side. And sometimes with the screenshot, we can see which ad partner is called here, this can save us time (in addition to knowing exactly what the problem is).
Now, I need to understand why I can't reproduce your issue on Google Chrome (screenshot 1) and Firefox (screenshot 2):
I continue the tests
--
The situation is not normal here and we are trying to find the problem to block the bad campaigns. We act as soon as we have complaints and a minimum of information to understand and reproduce the problem. I think everyone here understands that this is clearly not our goal to hide the content of your forum

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Having the same problem at www.newsfixboard.com for mobile users using Safari to access the site, at least in the UK. I'll post a screen shot if I can get one of the whingers to send me one.
This is preventing people from logging in, by the way.

Banner sitting over log in page
Hi members of my forum are experiencing a banner sitting over the log in field preventing them from logging in, this seems to be mainly with apple devices.
Just to note the banner appears when you click log in, is there a way to remove this please
http://shamblers.forumotion.co.uk
[url=]
Also just adding this problem is in Web version rather than mobile version... The web version is what they are used to seeing, for now the workaround i've given them is to click mobile version, fill in the fields so they can log in then select web version.

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Whilst this issue is in progress, the workaround i've given my members is as follows.
For now the quickest and simplest workaround for anyone with an iPad or iPhone is as Follows and takes about 10 seconds:
Click to login, scroll to bottom of page, click mobile version. You will be able to enter username and password, tick always log me in, then click to log in.
Then at the top right of the page click the square box and select web version you will new be back to normal.

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Hi again,
Our website is http://www.newzealandpottery.net/
Member with problem uses a mobile and Safari
He cannot login because of an advert over his login
In the meantime I have passed on mrs dj's advice as above.

Re: (#3566) Ad's preventing user log in
Hello,
We just sent a fix and it seems to work here, I can't reproduce the issue with the banner that masks the content on Safari.
Can you test on your side and confirm me it's OK now?
Thanks
