The one lie I did was a good one.

I told my wife I was going to work coz I was called in.

It was not my work calling me in, it was the Jeweller with the engagement ring I asked them to make for me
I wanted one of a kind ring made and I told them how I wanted it to look and after 3 weeks it was ready.

That weekend on Jennys birthday I asked her to marry me

It was so hard to hide it from her as she deals with all the bills that come in and the bank accounts online so I worked hard and put the beer money to one side and got my friends to buy all the bears for 6 months lol and doing odd jobs for all my friends and even lent money from family so she would never find out.
