[Suggestion] Cleansing for Forumotion

Post by SarkZKalie on May 7th 2018, 1:32 pm

Hello guys

The first release of Forumotion started on 2008, may sooner I'm not sure about that. Furthermore, we had a million of domain, most of them worked perfect, but some didn't.

So I write this post to suggest a re-verification : active or inactive

Why do we have to do this?
- We have to remain all site running on the same system, still paying for them day by day but some of them are ghost site.
- Re-verification is necessary. These ghost sites look like a piece on surface of a disk, too many fragmented one can make your system run slowly.
Code:
For example :
- The A person created persona.forumotion.com and unfortunately he did choose to build his site on another hosting server.
- The B person wanna create persona.forumotion.com, but he can't do it. So wasting our resoure, right?
Which domains and sites will be affect?

An inactive forum will be deleted if they fit these conditions :
- Number of topics : have less than 10 topics
- Number of users : have less than 10 members (exlude Admin/Founder).
- Number of activity points : 0 (forums need to be active or by default, they're dead.)
- Forum started : count from early 2008 to every 2~4 years per a period.
Code:
For example :
- Period 1 : 2008 to 2010. (or 2008 to 2012, every 4 years)
- Period 2 : 2010 to 2012. (or 2012 to 2016, every 4 years)
- Period 3 : 2012 to 2014. (or 2016 to 2020, every 4 years)
The Admins and Founder have 1 month to re-verify at least, that their sites is still running good before doom day.
They must not a dead one, i mean trashed or ghost site.

Thank you for your understanding and your time.

Hello @SarkZKalie,

Actually, it is already how things work since several years: all the forums having less than 3 messages and 3 members 3 months after their creation are automatically deleted. Wink
