Where is the option to renew domain name?
Hello, i just invested enough to cover my renewal of my current url forum and advertising removal for 12 months. I bought the advanced package which was 5260 credits. I did notice the adds are disabled until September 2019 which is ok, i then went looking to renew my url.. can't find anything apart from my current url runs out in 19 days and it will cost me 1200 more credits.
So did all my credits go on ad removal? It says i don't have enough to renew my url and only have 120 in credit. Usually there is an option to renew the current url but i can't see anything at all apart from it saying i don't have enough credits. Also i remember there used to be a notice saying the renewal of the url is pending and took a day or 2 to come through, i do not see that notice this time
Here is my history on buying credits through the advanced tab.
My forum is here.. http://www.bloodntars.net/
Something is not right after spending nearly $90au which is $30 more than the previous year. I do know the cost has gone up, but i expect my url to be included in that price. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Regarding domain renewals I found some information for you below!
The renewal is done from the administration panel, in the "Misc" tab. As soon as you enter the renewal period, a "Renew" button appears. Note that you can renew the domain before its expiration without losing any days of validity (example: my domain is valid until January 31, if I renew it on January 10, the additional year will start on February 1).
Warning: the renewal of a domain name as well as its purchase requires that your forum subscribed to the Advanced package or the Premium package: otherwise, you will not be able to renew your domain at the expiration of this one.
For more information, follow the links below.

Hello @efbe
As I can see in your screenshot you have 120 credits:
Therefore you'll need to add up to 1200 credits in order to renew your domain. Right now the packages give you the right to renew/buy a domain name and this feature is not included in the price. You can check the links @Jadster gave you above for further information.
Best regards.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Hello looking at your screen shot of your forum you do not have the number of credits to buy a domain name on your forum.
to buy your domain name go to
to buy your domain name go to
then you will be asked to update your domain. if you don't have the credits then you will need to by more to total of the domain name price.ACP >> Misc tab >> Credits management >> Spend credits >> click on domain name
Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Hello and thank you for your reply, but this is all wrong, i just spent almost $90 (Australian) to buy the advanced package, an extra $30 more than last year and that still wasn't enough to renew my url and ad removal. last year i only had to pay for 3600 credits to renew my domain url and remove adds for 12 months.
Once i paid through Paypal and paid for 5,260 credits, which i thought was more than ample, i then went to remove adds for members and guests for 12 months and it used up all the credits. 120 was left to renew my url which isn't enough.
Now your telling me ad removal alone for 12 months costs just over 5,000 credits when it used to be 2000 credits??.
So now i have to cough up another $20 to renew my url? That means ad removal is very expensive with Forumotion.
I'm not happy about this, i understand that the cost has gone up and am prepared to pay extra but this is ridiculous. It's gone from around $65 a year to around $110, that's getting close to double the cost.
Unhappy member here, iv'e been with Forumotion since the early days with 3 forums running, sadly i have to say it will be my last year.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Just to add to show that i'm getting ripped off, below is the a screen shot of the current advanced package i paid for.. It shows how much it cost me, it also shows what i get in that package, it shows ad removal for 12 months and a url for my forum included in the package. The last green tick is the custom url that is supposedly included and a green tick above for a external domain name. So where have all the credits gone to renew my url? Ad removal??

I am really sorry you feel like this I understand how you feel I also have a forum that is hosted from here and I know how hard it is to find the money to keep all the things we have had before.
Sadly without this big change our host will go bust A'd did pay a big part of this for us but sadly it is now not paying
I too have to pay for my domain name soon and I have some credits left but I can't see me having them to do it all again next year.
I really hope you change your mind and don't leave us we would hate to loose you
Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Hi ape, did you read my last post where i show you what i paid for and posted an image of what i am supposed to get with my advanced package, just above your last post As i said, i don't mind paying extra, but when you buy the advanced package and don't get what i paid for, there's something wrong.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Sorry APE and i appreciate your help, but why isn't this explained in the misc/ buy credits option in our forum?
Anyway, i'l spend another $20 to renew my url for another year and then move on.
Iv'e enjoyed using forumotion for many years but now it's become too expensive and there are better alternatives out there. I'm afraid Forumotion might be going about this the wrong way with this business model and will lose a lot of members.
Cheers.
Case closed.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Hang on before i go.. i just spent another $20 to buy credits for my url renewal ... that should have given me just over 1200 credits which is enough renew my url..no problem...but when i clicked to renew my url, all went well and the url is in process which normally happens. But as you can see, it shows i have currently 2420 credits. What's going on? Have i spent $20 for nothing?
Can some one explain to me what the hell is going on?

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Well we will be sorry to see you go. We didn't want to have to go the current business model, but we had NO CHOICE, as the old system was unsustainable. Most platforms are going the same way so.
Also it is explained in the packages section of the admin panel, all you got to do is hover over the info icon as shown in Ape's screenshot.
Edit: It might remove the credits after the domain renewal is complete possibly. Either that or you bought more then 1200.

Let's wait and see what @Shadow says on this. As I am not sure, it might take it out after the process is complete.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
don't forget in with your pack you can have your SSL certificates installed on your forum with no other cost
you just have to set it up on you forum.

Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
Forgive me for being dumb APE, but what does SSL certificates do? All i wanted was ad removal and my url renewed
Re: Where is the option to renew domain name?
There must be Gremlins working in the background with Forumotion forums, things have changed, it now says i only have 20 credits left. Which should be around the mark after spending the 1200 credits for the renewal of my url. What get's me is it showed i had 2420 credits at one stage.
Case closed but unfortunately still not happy re the expense.
Cheers all.

The SSL certificates makes your forum more safe for your members.
Don't get me wrong you DON'T have to have it but it is better to have it.
Right now your forum has the 2 following
A red padlock in the address bar
This will change your address a little from HTTP to HTTPS and make your forum more safe and lets google and other browsers see your forum is more safe then others.
The next thing it dose is removed this warning when logging in and out
