Robots Noindex
I can add this meta <meta name="robots" content="noindex" />, but the previous default <meta name="robots" content="index, follow, noodp" /> still posts as well. Since Noindex follows index, I assume it may work ok, but is there a way to delete the original 'index' version?

can I ask a little more info from you?
what is this for ?
where are you trying to put it ?
are you saying you have a older code that you added to your site already and now you want to update it with this new code ?
Re: Robots Noindex
I want to limit robot indexing. I do it all the time with websites I do not want ranked or exposed to the public. The html code for this is <meta name="robots" content="noindex" />. This should display in all page headers.
The site defaults with the contrary meta tag, asking search engines to index. When I add the 'noindex' meta tag, it displays properly, but leaves the default tag as well. I need to get rid of the default 'index' tag?
I understood we cannot alter the robottxt file?
Thank you...

Hello,
You should be able to make it so bots can not visit your forum. Just be aware doing so means you will not show on search engine results, at all. https://help.forumotion.com/t55170-bots-who-and-what-they-are

Thank you, Brandon_g.
The meta tag is what I used, although I had forgotten to add no follow to the no index, thank you. I will live with this solution, although to index and follow command proceeds my no index and no follow. Poor organization, but the later command should take precedent. Thanks!
