Solved Advanced options vs advanced packages

Post by kluviM on November 14th 2018, 12:59 pm

Hi all.
I am little-bit confused. Can You confirm my opinion, please?
I want to set-up closed forum. So admin has to approve every membersip request.
This i can reach only selecting Single/Advanced to Advanced in main page of forum administration (or user settings).
But i understand, that it is still free. Payed Advanced PACK is something different: added space, external domain name, ssl etc.
I would like to be sure. I don't want to be surprised after configuration of whall forum.
With regards
Martin

Isn'nt it more convenient and constructive to write Yes or No? Instead of playing with words?
So i repeat:
In Forum administration i have to select ADVANCED. Advanced WHAT? Advanced options layout (functions) or Advanced package?
See scrshot.

Oh ok, now I understand what your confused about. Sorry it wasn't clear before.

That 'advanced' with the check mark you see on the left, just means your viewing the admin panel in 'advanced mode' not that your forum has the advanced package.

You see there are 2 admin panel modes, 'Simple' and 'Advanced', simple will show you only the most basic options, while 'Advanced' will show you all available options. This has been this way for many years, way before we had the package system.

To check what package your forum is on, you need to go to ACP (Admin panel)--->Misc--->Forumotion Packages-->Scroll a down a little bit and you will see 'current package' under one of the tiers.

Your forum will always be on the free package by default and you only get the advanced or premium packages by paying for them.

Hopefully this clears up some of your confusion a little bit?
