    Notify your members and guests of what you want, when you want it

    Dear Forumotion users,

    As you know, Forumotion forums have recently benefited from the addition of a mobile and Progressive Web App dedicated to each forum. The benefits of this new technology have opened up new horizons for us. They have allowed us to provide you with a new means of communication with your forum members and guests : Custom push notifications. Very Happy

    What is a custom push notification?


    It is a message composed of a title, a text and an internal forum link that you can send as a push notification to all your forum guests and/or members who have agreed to receive it.

    These users will receive your message as an alert directly on their mobile or desktop devices. When they click on this alert, the internal forum link you specified will open, allowing the user to access the indicated page. Very useful to share important information, event or an interesting discussion for example. Wink

    You can access this new feature from your administration panel >> General >> Push Notifications >> Write and send

    The sent push notifications are then saved in an archive table.

    Note :
    • For an optimal use of this new technology, it is necessary to activate the HTTPS protocol and to encode your forum completely in UTF-8.
    • Custom push notifications are available for all packages, including the free one. However, the number of allowed pushs per month varies depending on the forum package.
    • The administrator can only send a push if the forum has subscribers who have agreed to receive it.
    • For the moment, the proper functioning of the forum push notifications is dependent on the ToolBar activation.
    • If you have agreed to receive push notifications but wish to unsubscribe, the process is very simple (you can even unsubscribe later). Simply click on the secure padlock in the address bar or go to your browser settings and cancel the authorization.
