Delayed Notifications

Ever since Forumotion made the change "Mark PM as read/unread", my notifications are no longer being sent in real time.

For instance, when I sit idle on the Home page I used to receive notifications as to PMs that I have received or notifications for topics that I'm watching. Now what happens is that I do not see any notifications unless I visit one of the forum pages or refresh my browser and then I will see that I received a number of notifications while I sat idle.

Before the change, I would continue to receive notifications while I was idle and now I don't. This behavior is happening to many members in our forum. It is common for admins in our group to sit idle on the home page while working on another tab to browse, etc. When a new notification was received, a number would appear on the tab of the forum page where I would sit idle to alert me. But not I am not seeing the notification number appear either on the tab of my browser or on the Toolbar.

This is a feature I rely on so that I do not have to continually refresh my page to find out if I have a notification.

Our forum is phpBB3.

Your problem concerns the notifications in the toolbar, right? No problem with notifications by email or notifications Push too?

Please, can you provide the URL of your forum?

@The Godfather, yes, it's the notifications that appear on the Toolbar. I don't use the email or push notifs, so I can't speak for that.

I need to make a correction. The notifications issue has only been occurring for about the last 5 days or so, but it definitely started after the change to the PM. Thank you for looking into this.

Update as of Aug 17: The delayed behavior is still occurring but only when I am idle. When I am actively browsing the pages at the group the notif system is working fine.
