Can't see my own likes with the new Like/Dislike system

So now I have another question about this new Like/Dislike system - why can I see everyone else's 'likes'/'dislikes' but can't see when people have liked/disliked my own posts even though I get notifications in the notifications toolbar thingy?   

I used to be able to see who had clicked on a green thumb in my posts but not now. Do I need to switch off reputation management or something? But then, surely, the green thumb will disappear?

Can you screen shot what one you are talking about so we are clear on what you are talking about.

Green Thumbs up is the in pick 1 is the Reputation system
The likes buttons (pick 2)are the only thing that gives you who has liked or disliked the post it will show up in all posts and you and your members can like all posts.
Thumbs up (Reputation) only works for your members not for you "You can't vote on your own Thumbs up" it don't show on your own posts.

Yes, I know I can't vote for my own posts, but shouldn't I still be able to see if someone has liked it?

If I log out, I can see 'likes' on other people's posts, and it says who that person is, but I still can't it on my own even though I've had a notification to say that someone has liked it.

On my post upthread ^^^ on this forum I can still see the Like/Dislike buttons even though I can't vote for myself - but I can't see those buttons at all on my posts on my own forum.

Go to Adminstration Panel > Modules > HTML & JAVASCRIPT > Javascript codes management

I can see the buttons at the bottom of my post on forumotion:

But it's odd that I can see the Like/Dislike buttons on my posts here, but not on my own forum.

you cant see at all the buttons ? did you change the templates according to the tutorial? if your templates are modified i mean

iam confused 
what exactly you don't see 
our new system like /dislike buttons? or LGlike system buttons you had?
APE told you to delete it cause it caused loading issues i think

I can't see the green thumbs up or the Like/Dislike buttons at the bottom of my posts (and nor can members see those things on their posts either) We can see other peoples buttons, but not our own.

On this forum I can see those things on my posts, but not so on my own forum.

Having said that, I can't see the green thumbs up thingy here either

green thumb and like buttons are not linked they are two separate systems 
do not mix them up 

if you had a javascript for the green thumb from someone else that could show who liked or dislike the post its a totally different issue from forumotion's new system

I have another one now...

I've just ticked the Dislike button on my post and I was able to do it - that shouldn't happen surely?

yes you can like or dislike your own posts unless you put a js to block it
is the js you temporary delete it as a test

I give up.

you can see it on other posts
But to see it on your post someone must “ thumb you “ up
You cannot thumb up your post
Thumb is connecting to the reputation system
No notifications

Like dislike buttons
You can see who liked or not depending on the settings
You can like your posts
It is not connecting to reputation
Notifications are on

No need to have both systems on your forum if you think it is confusing
The new like dislike system is easier, has many modifications and it is more complete
The only minus is that it is not connected to a reputation system
Maybe a future update will count the votes

Okay I was on your Forum the other day and I think I remember seeing a JavaScript installed on your forum stopping you from voting for your own topic's / posts

Actually, deactivating this javascript has solved the problem (thank you!) - I can now see if someone has liked/disliked my posts and the Like/Dislike buttons are back in view. That should be the same for all members too.

I'm not sure how that javascript appeared in the admin panel - was it an automatic addition by Forumotion, or did I put it there?

It was just confusing that I'd get a notification that someone had liked a post but then couldn't see which post the notification referred to - I can now.

Thanks also to skouliki for explaining that I can only see the green thumb if someone has clicked on it to like a post. That makes sense.

I realise that the two systems are not connected, and I think an update where the new Like/Dislike is connected to the reputation system would be useful to avoid confusion. The green thumb system could then be removed because, at the moment, I personally use both so that member's reputation still continues to increase.

A lot of my members are now using the Like/Dislike system - more so than the green thumb - so it's proving useful.

I do believe this particular query is now solved. I'll have a proper read through the tutorials that skouliki has posted.

Forumotion does not add JavaScript to that section of the AP.  That is only for members who want to add them.

LOL @jkh I have a part of my forum called Staff note pad it's for Admins and mods only.

I leave notes to my self of what I added and when.

All my co admin's also use the same thing so if they add some thing they tag me on it so I can see what's added at what time.
If something is removed the code is posted in a topic with all the settings so we can go back and re add it is we want to.

Maybe it would be something you would do to help you remember what is added and when
