Enable user to both "like" and "dislike" the same post
Hi all!
I am using the "like / dislike" feature on my forum, but I have customized the reactions for like and dislike to have different meanings (both are used in a positive manner).
The current situation is that the "like" and "dislike" options (or in my case, positive reactions) cannot be used simultaneously by one single user, but the user has to choose between the two. I would love to enable my users to use both the reactions at the same time for a single post.
Does anyone know about the javascript behind this feature?
I would guess there is some kind of if-else condition for activation of the "like" and "dislike" that prevents them from being active at the same time, that could, in my case, be removed to allow the simultaneous use of them two..?
Thank you in advance for any help or ideas!

Hello,
This feature is still quite new, having been released only a couple months ago, so I do not think many custom scripts have been created for it yet.
Perhaps @TheCrow, @Draxion or @SarkZKalie may be able to develop one for you if it is possible to do so.

As brandon mentioned, this is a new system and we have yet to start "playing" with it. As of now, I have no code to help you with. Sorry.

@Jassu L.,
You can't react with two reactions on a topic. Same as other platforms who use reactions. You only can react one way. I managed to change the like/dislike buttons via the templates, thanks to the new buttons Forumotion added but you can't make it possible a user to react with both like and dislike. It's logically impossible.

Hi,
thank you for the replies!
I can see that the logic behind the like/dislike feature lies in this js file: https://illiweb.com/rs3/89/frm/jquery/likes/FA_Likes.js
So I wouldn't call it "logically impossible" to react with both like and dislike if there just was a way to edit the file or insert another function below that file.
So far I haven't been able to come up with a solution to override that file since I don't know where it comes from (templates? or something else so innate, that us forum founders cannot edit it?).
Apparently this is not an editable feature (yet, at least), so I'll mark it as solved. Thank you for your help anyways :-)
