In progress forumotion general questions

Post by KPOP January 18th 2021, 4:37 pm

hi

so as some of you may know i been doing some stuff for the past couple weeks on forumotion
playing around and trying to make a decent layout for a future forum idea i got in my head

i woke up two days ago or so with the idea to maybe consider making the forum idea i have
to do it in my own language and thus not create an english based forum , i have my reasons

now the thing is, i don't mean to be rude but the forumotion support forum for dutch people is very low on activity compared to this one and others i have seen in other languages
i understand that is not their fault probably, because most forumotion users are maybe not dutch based, more so english and spanish and what not etc
so hence why their support forum is not really filled with lots of decent activity

that being said, the dutch support forum is so extremely inactive in a way due to only basically staff members logging in and hardly any other users??
it kind of feels silly to then later on promote my dutch forum over there.......
i read the rules here and i think they said when promoting on the english one here your forum has to be english based - i get that
but i think its ashame due to the inactivity of my own langauge support forum, which is out of my hands and yours, my forum could ''suffer'' a little, advertisement wise,
because if i made it english and post it here to promote it then later on , it get better hits through here and even seo wise because the english support forum is more popular on google searches than the actieforum one

so.... please, i ask you guys kindly, is there any way its still possible to promote a dutch forum else where other than the actieforum support place?

ALSO, wanting to make it dutch perhaps, am i forced then to move to actieforum domain? or can i keep my forumotion.com?
i prefer forumotion and in the end it should not matter right? its all the same, just different domain name

thank you so much

@KPOP,

Firstly, no, you cannot promote your forum here unless it's English. Same thing happens to other supports too. For example, all Greek based forums cannot be promoted here. (mine included) If your forum is in English though, then yes you can promote it here! Smile

As for the subdomain, it doesn't matter if you have the subdomain of forumotion. Your forum can be Dutch and have the .forumotion extention to it! Smile

Regards,
TC.

@thecrow
thanks
i was afraid of that

it is just really sad if i go dutch , the support forum of my country is just nearly ''dead'' activity wise = less views etc when promoting there
really saddens me but oh well
and as for the domain thing, i was just asking so i would know if i had to do stuff all over again and register at actieforum lol though it seems i won't , that's nice
and i would go for a custom domain in the end anyways so yeah

i really like forumotion layout wise and its easy to make a forum look good
but still big shame on the whole ''not getting notified when quoted''
Neutral

isn't your forum english though? i just had a looksy

EXTRA QUESTION
is it possible to change my forumotion forum default info to dutch? like all standard info / text like FAQ page and text appearing in widgets
i changed my default language to dutch but everything stays english on my forum
or is it not possible and if i want that, i need to register at actieforum?

Did you change it in the AP and in your profile?  Also if it is am image, this will not change it.
