Nested/threaded replies

Description of problem

Hi there,

I was wondering if there's a way to add nested replies to my forum. This way users can reply directly to a single comment instead of the thread. Kind of like how it's done on Reddit.
I'm not a big fan of quoting a comment as a means of replying.

I hope that was a clear enough description of my question.

Currently this is not possible using the options available in the admin panel. It MIGHT be possible to do using code such as Javascript, however, I am not entirely sure as I am not the most experienced when it comes to Javascript. Perhaps @SarkZKalie , @skouliki or @Draxion can answer whether this is possible or not.

It's a forum to practice languages. So I'd like to use nested comments more for grammar discussion for the grammar that was used in the comment. So the general replies could stay related to the threads.

Thank you for the suggestion! I just played around with that option but the thread comments still appear flat instead of nested.

Yes, kind of like a sub thread in the thread itself.

So quoting posts/messages will not work?

No, that's not what I'm looking for. I'd like the reply to a comment be directly under the comment and not a couple of comments away. For what I'm intending to use the forum for that would make the threads a little messy.

Messages are ordered from oldest to newest, or from newest to oldest. No way to classify the messages other than chronologically.

It would certainly be possible to shift a comment to a post to the right and even move it under the commented post, but as a subject consists of several pages, the technique would have its limits.
