It is with great excitement that we present to you today a feature that has been long awaited on our forums: an awards system. cheers

With this awards system, you can increase the engagement of your members by rewarding them with badges for their participation in the forum. The allocation of these badges can be automatic as well as manual.

Awards system: an overview of the functionality

In the Administration Pannel of your forum, you now have a complete awards management system to configure the awards that you can assign to your members: automatically when the user reaches specific goals, or manually.

You will find it out by going to the ACP> Users & Groups> Awards.

This is where you can add, edit, view and delete awards and assign badges that correspond to them.

Where can I see member badges / awards on the forum?

The awards obtained by members, visually symbolized by badges, will be displayed in their profile (the simple or advanced profile) and in their messages, in the profile box under the avatar (if the administrator has chosen to display them at this location).

Each member can also find the rewards obtained and not obtained (if the administrator has chosen to display them) in their own profile.

Note: as each badge rewards a different action, each user also has the choice of changing the order of the badges displayed in order to highlight the awards that matter most to him. To do this, the user must go to editing his profile.

Notification of obtaining a new award

When a user is assigned an award manually or automatically, he receives a notification via the toolbar indicating which badge he has won as well as the congratulatory message defined in the PA.

Note: No notification is sent when creating an award with automatic attribution. As a result, members who are assigned an automatic badge directly at the moment when it is created will not receive this notification.

How to manage the awards in the admin panel?

You can create new awards in your awards "control tower" (AP> Users & Groups> Awards) .

Fill in the title of your award, its description, upload an image (the badge) that corresponds to it. You can also create a congratulation message (which the user will receive via a notification) and even specify a custom CSS class to easily customize the appearance of the awards on your forum.

There are 2 types of awards:

automatic awards (depending on actions carried out by the member or objectives achieved: membership period, number of topics created, number of likes obtained, etc.)
awards with manual assignement (they will be assigned by the admin manually, therefore according to subjective criteria)

In the case of creating an automatic award, you will have to indicate the value to be achieved. For example, if we want to give a "Best Poster" badge to users who have posted more than 1,000 messages on the forum, the settings of our award will be as follows:

The rewards management system allows you to have a global overview of the badges available on your forum, as well as to see the information of each reward in detail (the number of users having each reward, the description, the value to be achieved, etc.).
