Question about banned members abilities
Hi guys,
I have been searching for an answer to this for 2 days, and I believe I have extinguished all responses, and not found my answer, so here it is.
I want to know if banned memebrs are recieving the newsletters (because I do not want them to)
The reason I ask is because a few days a ago, I sent out a message to all members, and I recieved a response from a banned members claiming "I have no idea why I would be on this list....) etc...
As a banned member, she shows up in the list as active, yet I have banned her by user name, IP, and email address.
My question is, was this just a fluke, or do banned members continue to recieve the newsletters, and if so, how do I correct that.
Also, is it possible to change a members email address (if they are recieving newsletters) to something else, without them recieving a notice about it.....
Thanks.

Re: Question about banned members abilities
Hi Ape,
In the users profile (like below) she has
Allow Newsletters Yes
Allow Popular content Yes
but it is greyed out for me, and I can not click anything in that area.

Re: Question about banned members abilities
Okay it looks like you can't change this.
I will talk to our team in our head office and see if they can make a change to the system to allow Admin's to edit this on the ACP or just stop Emails getting sent out to banned members.
After all why would you want the banned members to see anything to do with your forum after they are banned.

BTW, I used to be able to do that years ago, I had only noticed that I could no longer turn those radio buttons on or off since I banned this person.... and now they are greyed out. And yes, it is pointless to ban anyone if they are still getting newsletters etc.
Thanks for your time, please let me know the outcome.
Re: Question about banned members abilities
The team have seen my report and asked me some more about the problem so I have told them what you have put here and also ran a test on my forum as well and I also got a Email when I banned my test account.
I will get back to you when I get more news or if it is taking time i will keep you informed.
Regards,
Ape and the team.
