Solved hack forumotion?

Post by Poul David April 28th 2022, 4:10 pm

Hi,

I have a member who is an IT expert and he says he can hack my forum because security is weak! - Is this wearing anything? - He also says that he can use the TOR browser for Forumotion and thus my forum!

Is he right, or are they just big words without correctness?

Invite him to do it,you would recover your forum in a few minutes if I managed to do it.Many say the same, and then do nothing

Nothing in this world is 100% safe and never will be but if this so called member of yours thinks he can hack your forum then he will tell you how he has done it.

The real Question is if this person can hack you then my advice is to report them to the police as it is against the law to even think this way about hacking a a site and he is not a good IT expert.

Forum safety advice:
Never give out your Email address at any time other then here by PM t staff members.
Never give out your IP address no matter who it is.
Never give your password to anyone.
Always have a long strong password and never save it on your browser.
always log out of your account when your not using it.
You should always have one Email address just for your forum and not use it for anything else other then your forum.

Also we have had members make account's here telling us almost the same thing and it is away of trying to make your worry about it and give them info about you and your forum.

I would not worry about it and best thing to do is maybe ban this person.

thanks for the reply - I did, but he did not take it seriously! - He has been employed in an IT company for many years, and says that he has the tools to be able to do it!

I do not think he would tell! - He says he has only done it once before! - Forum safety advice: - All these points I have done! - I think he says so, so as not to be thrown out! - I will consider ban if he gets too naughty - Thanks for your answer here!
