Member unable to sign in.
https://skidsplace.forumotion.com/
Hi all,
I have a member who suddenly (from one day to the next) is unable to sign in. When he tries, he's getting this message:
‘You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password’
In his profile, under:
Administrate user : Profile > New password : *
You only need to supply a password if you want to change it
Confirm password : *
You only need to confirm your password if you changed it above.
I have tried to change his password but to no avail.
Can someone help please.
Cheers,
Alan.

Re: Member unable to sign in.
Good evening!
When you entered a new password for the user, then entered the same password to confirm the change - did you then press the "save" button?
Reminder: you cannot find out the password that the user had before. You can only change it to a new one.
Your user can also use the "I forgot my password" function to recover their password

Hi Razor and thanks for your response.
Yes I did press save. Twice actually as I did try twice, just in case.
I'll tell him to try 'I forgot my password'
Cheers,
Alan.

Re: Member unable to sign in.
tell him not to copy and paste the password you gave him, to put it manually, and to be careful with the capital key, case-sensitive passwords.

Thanks for your help guys but my member is still unable to sign in.
Is it possible for me to delete his account so that he can re-sign up with the same e-mail and a new password?

Re: Member unable to sign in.
You can delete his / her account but you may find that for about a week the email address may be saved on our servers so the account may show up as still used.
My advice is to try and log in as the member to test why the account is not working.
If you can't log in as the member then there is something wrong with the account, BUT if you can log in then the member is doing something wrong their end.
