WEB TV USER CANNOT POST
Hi, I have a new member and she says she uses "WebTV" and she can log on my site and look, but cannot post anything anywhere. ANY info would be greatly appreciated, THANKS

You have to make sure that members can post and reply to threads on the forum
Admin Panel\Forum\Forum permission control
and make sure that under the post and reply section it includes members

Thanks for the effort Craig, but I just checked and yes, all that is correct. All other nearly 300 members can post, reply, do everything, except this one user. No one else on there is with that "WebTV" internet service, so I'm thinking it's all to do with that...?
If you, or anyone else, has ANY tips or tricks I can try, please post. I feel horrible that she can't post

Have you check that users personal settings
Admin panel\Users & Groups\users\user in question\permissions
The only other thing you could do is create a new user and export the profile info over to that new account manually!?

Ok, I just went and double checked... she SHOULD be able to post, according to the user settings.
I'm a little lost on creating a new user and exporting her info into it... do you mean SHE needs to sign up as a new user, or that is something *I* can do for her?

I have created a new user before and just moved all the details across
Log out, register a random name and a new email address (i use one free account from hotmail just for this purpose
)
Once you have clicked the confirmation link in the email you can then go into
admin panel\users and groups\username you created
and change the email address and just copy all the other users details over, you can then change the username aswell
once done delete the old account, takes roughly 5 minutes

Did she activate her account? If she can log on her account is active but just in case...

Thanks, and yes, her account is activated. She can log on, read everything, and even was able to read a PM I sent to her, but cannot POST at all nor reply to a PM. It baffles me BIG TIME.

Ok, the user I've been talking to who has issues has WebTV Classic Phillips Magnavox 965A101 version 2.8.1. (sorry, I know next to nothing about WebTV, don't know what numbers in that are important.)
I've installed the fix at the top of the second page of this thread, and he's unable to post. He's also in contact with another member who's unable to post, but I don't know that person's versions.
Is there anything else I can do, or any suggestions I can give him? He's sticking with me, I want to give him my best effort at getting him into the forum.

Ahhhhhhhhhh Thanks O.Fan! Actually, thanks to ALL who have been trying to help. I will tell her she just needs to contact her WebTV tech and hope for the best.
