I Dont Get The Poll Thingy

Pls somebody have patience for this. I wanna have a poll in my page just below my widgets. I know how to add a poll widget there. My problem is how to start a poll and put in there in the poll widget. I tried to make one, it stayed in the forum..

to have a poll on your forum widget you must first create a thread with a poll.
afterwards you must add a poll module to your widgets

admin panel-> modules -> forum widgets
after you added the poll block you must save the module.
after saving return to the menu and click the settings button.
you will be redirected to a page from which you can choose the poll you want to display
