Litigation???
I had issues on my forum last week, which resulted in banning of a few members - The next day I received a litigation, and I KNOW it was my banned member that did it because it was a ludicrous report....
I was told in the litigation that I had 14 days to reply - I replied right away with read receipts and never got the RR back... Nor have I heard anything more?? I also PM'd an admin as well as a mod on here for guidance - Both received my msg's but again, no reply.
Can someone please tell me how to resolve this issue?? I do not want to risk losing my board, I have a lot of members that would be devastated!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks

Bold and Color are reserved for moderation, like this, so please keep to the default font
If you deleted the content that got you to receive the litigation then you don't have anything to fear. Your forum won;t be deleted as long as it doesn't break the terms of Service

Re: Litigation???
My apologies about the Bold/Color - I didn't know
About the content reported... they reported we were a 'drugs' forum, and showed a screen print of a review thread as proof. We do product reviews etc on LEGAL herbal incense; etc... Nothing illegal is discussed their at all.
I cannot see anything in the Terms that would make discussing legal products... We discuss herbal incense; nootropics; other herbs; (medicinal; etc)
So would that be considered against the terms?? We list 18 or older on the registration, as some of the products discussed are only sold to ppl over the age of 18?
Please advise me... We have over 200 members; and don't want to lose our board...especially since the litigation was done by a banned member out of revenge..
Also, while I have a mod here. We bought the domain thru forumotion?? Can I move the site to another host IF they do decide it's against the terms?? Or do I just lose it?? I hope I don't lose it considering I paid for 2 yrs...
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Re: Litigation???
Well, I'm not getting much help here...and haven't heard anything back from the ppl reviewing the litigation.
Can someone at least tell me this... IF they do end up finding my forum "against terms" even tho it's not... will they at least give me a warning and like an email saying "it will be deleted in 5 days" (or something of the sort) Or will I just go to log on and it be vanished???
I need to notify my members of a new URL if it is being deleted so I hope I have some form of notification.
I also wish there was an easier way to reach/correspond with admins; etc here at forumotion... It is very difficult to get help when no one will tell me WHO I need to contact

Re: Litigation???
Well, I know I am talking to myself, but if someone has a similar issue it may help them to know, it's not uncommon to not hear anything more on ur litigation. I never heard back from my reply, and now the litigation is gone from my admin panel (it was under misc >> support) I am assuming it's no longer open; or a concern (or at least I HOPE)

Re: Litigation???
Someone posted a pornographic image on my forum and I just recieved a litigation and an abuse report but no email yet from forumotion...I deleted the entire thread there. How do I change my registration information that new members see to include one has to be 18 yrs and older and also, that no offensive material can be posted???

you can add whatever you want for rules.
for the age....
go to User and groups>User options>scroll down to Birthdays and set for min. age
You can also make birthday obligatory for registration in Users groups>profiles
