Multiple Smilie Codes

Because different people use different kinds, this suggestion is that single smilies can have several codes. For example: Our friend has several forms. There are

:)
:-)
(:
(-:

And so on and so forth. So, instead of having to make several of the same smilies with different codes (It would look odd having four in the smilie selection, no?), smilies would have a main code, as well as n amount of other codes that it would replace in the posts. If I've not been clear with what I mean (I feel it may be a bit confusing) please let me know so I can explain further/better.
