Images in Threads

Hi, guys.

Can you tell me if putting images within actual posts can slow a forum down or make a marked difference?

We do have a gallery, but mostly we use particular threads for particular images and like it that way as members know when an image is posted and there is nothing with the gallery to tell anybody that a pic has been added.

We have previously had a forum with all sorts of speed problems and I want to avoid it happening again if poss.

Oh, yeah. I'm sure I remember seeing something somewhere about a Pro Gallery, but damned if I can find anything now. Was I imagining it or can somebody point me in the right direction please.

ya too much images slowed the load speed down because of the amount it needs to load
