well if your using an older version you can always change to the newer one.
but as far as the upgrades they should automatically be installed and placed on your forum from forumotion.

like just go to the admin home page and you will see all the latest updates and new features. but now if you are in fact using an older version? I'm not sure if they go to that or not ?

He might be talking about adding new features to the forum like you can add new category/forum, you can use new theme for you site, you can install portal and add many customized widgets, you can arrange contests and make it more interesting etc.
