the mail that sends the activation links to my new members is : member@forumotion.com

how can i change this mail to my admin mail

i have to purchase a domain to change the activation mail address ?

There is no option for this. I looked and doubled check and nothing.

Nopes, there is no way to change it.
The only way is as mentioned above, get a domain. Then you are allowed to make 10 email addresses such as xyz@domainname.com

yeah i know about the smtp mails that u get with new domains
but at another host for free forums too i was able to modify this by even a yahoo mail, no need for sub domains
and at forumotion there is that tab in one of the configurations page for the admin mail, i thought that was for the activation mails and the others mails sent by forum but still members activation mails r all sent from : member@forumotion.com

i just want to make it easier for my forum members to know that this mail is the activation mail for there forum account

Yes that option is there, while sending a newsletter.
You can select either the email addres as board@forumotion.com or your private email address through which the admin account is activated.

Also in Admin panel>general>Messages and emails
Email Settings frame,

Admin Email Address : Change it to a private email address on gmail, etc

i know that gmail is the only mail server that supports free smtp is this the cause of my forum using forumotion mail (than my yahoo doesnt support smtp)?

I just said gmail etc, you can try using others too.
But, i really don't know how to do it if this didn't work. Sorry.
