Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
I have heard good reviews about the camera which you use.
I was using one a couple of months ago.
Camera - Nikon D60
Lens- AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G
Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 G ED
This was a great SLR, too good for a beginner like me.
I also have Nikon Coolpix S51, a usual day to day camera.

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
Nice Cam you got there.
And a pretty good 24-70mm lens.
I think for Christmas am going to get a new camera.
I'm hoping either for the Nikon D90 or D300 or Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
Cause my sister has Nikon and I have Canon.
Just to let you know, am not a nub on cams lol. Buying two different brand name camera that lens won't go in. hahaha.
So yeah... my sis has Nikon lens and I have Canon lens.
She has the D80. And she's only 12 years old! lol!
So we're fine either way if we buy different brand name. I can switch between cameras Nikon and Canon. ^_^
And I'm also hoping for a
EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Ultra Wide Angle Lens.

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
I enjoy photography and such, but I wouldn't have a clue about the advanced side of everything. I have a canon digital camera which I take alot of places, handy little devise I must say.

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
Overtime, i have realized Canon is better than Nikon for its normal digital cameras. I myself have a Nikon S51, whenever i click pictures mostly during night there is a thin yellowish shade for all the photos. I have compared pictures clicked in the night with Canon n a Nikon, there is a vast difference.
Did anyone else feel this?

Sry Sanket, didn't been on forumotion.com for awhile. Haha, so am unable to respond to that when he posted it. And I see u made Moderator while I was gone? Congratz.
Hahaha, so to answer to that question...
Umm... they really have their pros and cons.
But I prefer Canon better because, I think its picture taken is more sharp and more high quality than Nikon.
Its lens can also auto focus faster and more quiet than Nikon. Although Canon has its cons... their lens. Although their lens is really good and is worth the price, but I highly not recommend a beginner for it. Their lens is extremely expensive so is not worth it if your a beginner. Is like... if u buy a package, come with 18-55mm... but if you want to get like 55-200mm... that cost like $600, but is worth its price.
So yeah... Nikon... is for beginner and cheap lens I recommend. Nikon lens are also pretty good, also worth is price, but is cheaper, great for beginner. Canon is expensive, lens is also worth their price, but recommend for advance photographer. Also, lens, they always maintain their value, so don't worried if you buy it. You can always sell back to like on eBay or Amazon.com for almost the same price. Example: $500 lens, I can probably resell it for like $450. Their price value never drop, like gold.
So yeah... otherwise both brands are good, but I prefer Canon just cause it has a bit higher picture quality.
And for Nikon... for beginners and cheaper accessories.

I assure u that is no one gigapixel camera. lol.
Maybe around 21-30 megapixel with a really good lens. Probably an ultra super wide angle lens with f/1.4
Around $3k for that lens.
I gotta admit though, quality was pretty good but is not one gigapixel.
If it was, probably be one in existence and probably Bill Gate can afford one or the government. lol
And they just use a 6 megapixel and place like a million picture together.

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
I have to agree with Vintage, a professional camera is only as good as the person shooting the camera, but don't forget the lens is as or even sometimes more important then the camera selection. As for a good pro camera, there's Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, Leica and I sure I left out a couple more good cameras out there. But keep in mind that your camera has to handle various lenses, wide angle, close up, distance lens and don't forget the aperture of your lenses. But most important, make sure the camera you select feels good in your hands

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
I carry my Pentax Optio S5i everywhere, every day. Annoyingly this model doesn’t fit in an Altoids tin, unlike its predecessor which I used to have, but it’s tiny enough to fit comfortably into a front jeans pocket and takes super 5MP pictures for a point-and-shoot.

Re: Photography, What Camera do you have?
I'm a photography student and I have a Canon EOS 400D, it's great but you'd probably be better off with something smaller if you're just using it for leisure purposes.
For editing I use Photoshop CS4, although I wouldn't recommend it unless you were using it for serious photographic work as you'd probably only use about 2% of it's features and it's about £600, so that would be such a waste of money. GIMPshop however is free, and does a lot of the less advanced things Photoshop does. I used it before I had PS:
